Miami is joining an interstate – and intrastate — hunt for an elusive quarry: deep-pocketed hedge-fund managers.
The city of white-sand beaches and LeBron James is launching a campaign to lure money managers away from New York and Connecticut for its climate and favorable tax structure for businesses. At the same time, it hopes to persuade them to bypass Palm Beach, which it says traditionally has been more of a draw for investors.

Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business has announced that its AACSB-accredited M.B.A. in Sport Management program has been ranked fifth in North America and eighth in the world in the 2013 SportBusiness International rankings of Master-level Sport “Courses.” FAU is the only school in the state of Florida listed in the top 25 world rankings.

Kelly Smallridge, President and CEO of the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County (BDB) was awarded with the Governor's Ambassador Award for her 25 year contribution to economic development in Palm Beach County. Additionally, the Governor recognized the BDB as one of the top performing economic development organizations in the state. Governor Rick Scott presented the award to Smallridge at the May 9 Enterprise Florida Board meeting.
