Palm Beach County offers entrepreneurs a wide variety of resources to get their business off to a great start. The Business Development Board formed the BDB Entrepreneur Task Force to strengthen the entrepreneur ecosystem in Palm Beach County by unifying Entrepreneur Support Organizations and bringing entrepreneurs together through it's website www.PBCEship.org

Enterprise Development Corporation
Enterprise Development Corporation Florida (EDC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides advisory and support services to help position entrepreneurs, investors, and partners for success and grow South Florida’s start-up ecosystem. As part of its mission, the nonprofit organization actively facilitates connections between entrepreneurs and investors, organizes impactful events, attracts capital, and helps shape a regional agenda to strengthen the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. Since 1994, it has helped more than 300 companies per year, and its total economic impact in South Florida has exceeded $500 million.

The SCORE Association is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneurial education and the formation, growth and success of small businesses nationwide. The mission of the Adams Center for Entrepreneurship (ACE) at the DeSantis Pavilion is to create entrepreneurial leaders that find sustainable solutions to economic and social problems. The goal of ACE is to prepare FAU students in business, science, engineering, and all disciplines who are looking to become entrepreneurs through business ownership or through venturing. The Carl DeSantis Pavilion was established in 2001 as part of Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business, with the mission of serving as an incubator for ideas and a center of discussion and scholarly activity. The DeSantis Pavilion hosts the college’s renowned School of Accounting, Executive Programs as well as its outstanding entrepreneurship, mentorship and internship programs.

Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) Program
YEA! is a groundbreaking program held at the Adams Center for Entrepreneurship on the Florida Atlantic University campus.  The program takes students between the ages of 11 and 18 through the process of starting and launching a real business or social movement over the course of an academic year. By the end of the class, students own and operate fully-formed and functioning businesses, which may be carried after their graduation from the program.

FAU Business Plan Competition
Each year, FAU holds a Business Plan Competition.  Teams are comprised of FAU alumni, faculty, students (registered and not currently registered), students from other colleges or universities and members of the business community or any combination thereof. Teams have the opportunity to meet and network with experienced venture capital principals, early stage angel investors, successful entrepreneurs, and senior business leaders who will serve as judges for the competition. The competition provides an unparalleled experience for the participants providing time to interact with the judging panel to receive their valuable feedback.  Teams will compete for cash prize money, legal and business services, office space at FAU’s Research Park Authority, the possibility to advance to the state and national competitions, present their business plan to local angel and VC groups and more.

Florida Institute for the Commercialization of Public Research
The fourth largest state in the United States, Florida boasts a solid infrastructure for research and discovery with over two dozen universities and research institutes. Formed in 2007, the Institute assists its research partners with new company formation and development, and showcases Florida’s innovation inventory to pair commercially-viable discoveries with management and capital. Promising new companies are cultivated here, reversing the trend of exporting Florida’s best technologies and brightest graduates.  The Institute's mission is economic development through the commercialization of new discoveries generated from publicly funded research. Success is measured by the number of companies and jobs that are created, and the amount of capital invested into new ventures. Through the Institute, Florida will build a critical mass of technology-based companies upon publicly-supported research, manifesting a globally-recognized science and technology economy.

The Paragon Foundation of Palm Beach County
Paragon provides fiscally responsible economic opportunities to black and minority-owned businesses.
