Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told a gathering of more than 400 business, civic and religious leaders Thursday that the single biggest national security threat is the crisis in K-12 education.

Dr. Matthias Haury has been appointed Chief Operating Officer at the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience in Jupiter, Fla. He will be responsible for the scientific infrastructure and operations at the new 100,000-sq.-ft. biomedical facility.
