The School District of Palm Beach County, serving pre-K through Grade 12, is committed to excellence in education and preparation of all students with the knowledge, skills, and ethics required for responsible citizenship and productive employment.  The School District of Palm Beach County, with 174,004 students, is the fifth-largest school district in Florida, and the 11th-largest in the nation.

Schools in Florida are graded based on student achievement, and those in Palm Beach County are among the highest-rated in the state. There are nearly 7,500 students in Gifted Programs. The Choice Program in Palm Beach County schools offer educational choices. While similar courses may be offered in traditional schools, Choice Programs attract students by offering unique opportunities for in-depth experiences and study in specific areas of interest. Palm Beach County is also home to many nationally respected private schools

Palm Beach County Colleges and Universities

The exceptional quality of training and education at Palm Beach County colleges and universities is to provide high-quality, employment-focused workforce training; progressive professional education; and opportunities for enrichment designed to meet the changing needs of our diverse community.

Barry University- Barry University is a private Catholic institution with a history of academic excellence in the Dominican tradition, offering over 140 bachelor's degrees in business, human resource management, legal studies, social welfare, and public administration. Master's, Specialists, and Doctorates are available in social work and human resource development and administration.

Florida Atlantic University – An urban regional university organized into 10 colleges on seven campuses around Palm Beach County, offering 170+ degree programs including undergraduate degrees and certificates in 80 fields, master's degree programs in 67 fields, and Ph.D. programs in 19 fields.

Kaplan University – Kaplan University is part of Kaplan Higher Education, a system of more than 65 campus-based schools nationwide. With 11 areas of study, five for-credit certificate programs, and three continuing education certificate programs, Kaplan University offers online master's, bachelor's, and associate's degrees, as well as certificate programs. 

Keiser University - Keiser University is a regionally accredited, private university with 13 campuses located throughout the state offering 65 graduate, bachelor, and associate degrees, as well as certificate programs both on campus and online. The West Palm Beach campus offers degrees in business administration, accounting, computer networking and security management, computer graphics, massage therapy, criminal justice, medical assisting, legal studies, nursing, and radiologic technology.

Lincoln College of Technology and Florida Culinary Institute - Lincoln College of Technology offers 18-24 month Associate Degree programs, a variety of continuing education certifications for business professionals, and new nine- and 12-month diploma programs for those on the career fast track. At its West Palm Beach Campus, it offers programs in the Culinary Arts, as well as Automotive Tech, Business Management, Dental, HVAC, Medical Assisting, Cosmetology, and Hair Design. Lincoln Technical programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of the local employer market. By meeting with local businesses, programs are kept up to date with the rapidly changing demands of employers. Lincoln College of Technology ranks as one of the nation's finest career training institutions.

Lynn University – A private, fully-accredited institution offering master's, bachelor’s and associate’s degrees in seven colleges and schools. Twenty master’s degrees and 29 undergraduate majors including business administration, education, hospitality, art and design, as well as nine flight-based undergraduate certificate programs.

Northwood University - Northwood University is a private, non-profit institution offering a wide variety of business-related bachelor’s and master’s degree programs tailored for both traditional students and working adults. With small class sizes, faculty interested in each student’s success, and industry-specific curriculums, Northwood graduates become community leaders. Degree programs are offered in Entrepreneurship; International Business; Business Management; Accounting; Advertising & Marketing; Aftermarket Management; Automotive Marketing & Management; Finance; Entertainment, Sport & Promotion Management; Hotel, Restaurant & Resort Management; and more.

Nova Southeastern University - Nova Southeastern University, a private, not-for-profit institution, offers a wide array of  degrees through its 16 colleges and schools, including 89 bachelor’s degrees, 69 graduate degrees, and 16 doctoral programs, complementing on-campus educational opportunities and resources with accessible distance learning programs, and fostering intellectual inquiry, leadership, and commitment to community through engagement of students and faculty members in a dynamic, life-long learning environment.

Palm Beach Atlantic University – A four-year Christian liberal arts university with 52 undergraduate majors. Graduate and professional degree programs in addictions and mental health counseling, business administration, marriage and family counseling, mental health counseling, school guidance counseling, leadership and pharmacy.

Palm Beach State College - More than 100 Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees, and Certificate Programs, as well as four Bachelor of Science degree programs are on offer at PBSC. Academic programs include health education, medical technology, physical therapy, nursing, dental, radiological technology, green building technology, bioscience Banner Center, and criminal justice.

South University – The West Palm Beach campus offers programs in the areas of professional nursing, business, healthcare, and legal studies designed to prepare students for career and personal development by offering relevant coursework and practical experiences. The College of Business offers eight degree programs; the College of Health Professions offers two degrees, one associate’s and one bachelor’s; the College of Arts & Sciences offers one associate’s, three bachelor’s and one master’s degree; and the College of Nursing offers two bachelor’s and one master’s degree programs.

Employ Florida Banner Center for Life Sciences
The Employ Florida Banner Center for Life Sciences at Palm Beach State College is Florida’s industry-driven resource for life sciences workforce education and training. It is a consortium of industry, workforce, and educational partners providing training and career advancement solutions for Florida’s life sciences industry including medical devices, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology.

The Banner Center develops state-of-the-art, industry-driven curriculum products and services deployed statewide in various training and education centers. Modules are developed with guidance from representatives of the life sciences industry sectors to support the pipeline of workers needed for current and future employment demands. The Banner Center functions as a resource for all educational institutions, economic development organizations, and Regional Workforce Boards in the state, providing leadership in the ongoing process of developing products and services to enable Florida’s workforce increased competitiveness in the identified life sciences industry.

Vocational/Occupational Education
Palm Beach County’s existing schools provide vocational and occupational training as well. Twenty-six (26) community schools and the Adult Education Center provide Adult and Community Education programs to over 300,000 county residents each year. Last year, over 3,500 residents earned their GED in these programs and that number increases every year. Training is available within five miles of every Palm Beach County citizen and can be obtained on either a full- or part-time basis depending on student needs.
