In honor of 2019 Global Meetings Industry Day, over 100 business and tourism leaders convened to discuss the impact of business travel around the world at an event hosted by Discover The Palm Beaches on April 4, 2019.  In fact, Palm Beach County benefits from $147 million in economic impact from meetings and conventions. As several executives highlighted the importance of this sector, Robert Mino, Vice President of Life Sciences at the Business Development Board, shared how economic development and tourism go hand in hand. The power of meetings and conventions can inspire businesses and corporations to potentially move their business to Palm Beach County, diversifying our economy and increasing job opportunities. From a national perspective, participants learned that meetings in the U.S. generate $845 billion each year. When putting Palm Beach County's assets into perspective, it's clear that there's a huge potential in the meetings market for the local economy.
