August 16, 2019 - BOCA RATON, FLA – The Business Development Board of Palm Beach County (BDB) is pleased to announce that FlexShopper, a leading national online lease-to-own (“LTO”) eCommerce marketplace and LTO payment solution, plans to employ up to 200 people at its new corporate headquarters in Boca Raton. The company consolidated multiple locations into one large headquarters located at 901 Yamato Road, Suite 260. It leased a 21,622 sq. ft. facility, completed in August 2019.
FlexShopper is the largest online lease-to-own marketplace with over 140,000 brand name products such as electronics, furniture, and appliances. It’s an innovative financial and technology company that helps consumers that do not have sufficient cash or credit to buy durable goods. Founded in 2013, FlexShopper has been revolutionizing the Rent-to-Own industry since it brought the traditional, in-store brick and mortar lease-to-own model online. It’s created a unique platform for people to lease-purchase popular brands with little to no credit and the brands enjoy working with FlexShopper because it reaches an untapped demographic by offering affordable payment solutions on a variety of products.
The Business Development Board fast-tracked FlexShopper’s expansion by bringing together all stakeholders for a pre-application permit meeting, which resulted in expedited permitting and the ability to operate under a Pre Permit Construction Agreement “PPCA.” The meeting included the company’s engineers, consultants, architect, landlord, the City of Boca Raton, and project manager J. Kelly Advisors. This effort allowed immediate renovations and the issuance of permit several weeks earlier than normal.
“We appreciate the concerted efforts of all parties including the BDB and the City of Boca Raton for expediting the process and enabling us to meet key operational deadlines. We’re excited to have the entire FlexShopper family under one roof in Boca Raton and look forward to continued growth and expansion here,” said Brad Bernstein, President and CEO of FlexShopper.
“FlexShopper’s new headquarters will host a unique technology platform right here in Palm Beach County,” said Kelly Smallridge, President and CEO of the Business Development Board. “The BDB thanks the City of Boca Raton and J. Kelly Advisors for supporting the growth of this company in Boca Raton.”
