Top Five Reasons Palm Beach County is the Perfect Place for Marine Industries

Published Thursday, July 27, 2017

Palm Beach County's abundant marine resources and its strategic location make it a top location for the marine industry. Here are the top five reasons it's the perfect place:

1. From deep-sea fishing in the Gulf Stream to sailing the protected waters of the Intracoastal, the numbers prove success.

2. Palm Beach County is home to the Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County, a trade organization representing more than 800 marine-related businesses in Palm Beach County.

3. The Palm Beach International Boat Show, one of the top five boat shows in the country, is hosted here in downtown West Palm Beach. It features more than $1.2 billion worth of boats, yachts and accessories from the world’s leading marine manufacturers.

4. Who's Here?

The Port of Palm Beach is the fourth-busiest container port in Florida and eighteenth in the nation. It's also the only South Florida port with on-dock rail.

5. There's a large pool of talent already here.  For example, there's the Riviera Beach Maritime Academy, a career pathway offering education and employment opportunities to the marine industry that improves and expands the industry's labor force.
