Award by event keynote and former Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen.

Thursday, November 29, 2018: NEW YORK EisnerAmper managing director Deborah Friedland was acknowledged by the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) for “Mid-Sized Transaction of the Year.” She led a transaction team that worked on the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center, an Illinois-based hotel. The Chapter 11 reorganization plan included the successful restructuring of bond debt, revitalization of the property, and navigation of a creditor challenge.

The Transaction of the Year Award recognizes those individuals who orchestrate a non-operational restructuring, including merger and acquisition, sale, loan, liquidation and/or debt restructuring to preserve value in a struggling business.

The awards are based on a rigorous peer-review process whereby each award committee member reads and rates each entry. The scoring is blind and averaged across the board to determine an aggregated score. Entries are judged on individual merit where judges look for well-defined, measurable outcomes.

Deborah Friedland is a managing director in EisnerAmper’s Corporate Finance Group and is the national practice leader for the firm’s Hospitality Advisory Services group. She specializes in operational strategy analysis, asset management, valuation, internal control review and assessments, market studies, and transactional due diligence for investors and lenders. Deborah has been involved in the successful turnaround of numerous hotels, resorts, restaurants, and mixed-use properties.
