Richard Creed joins WGI in Fort Lauderdale Office
(FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – December 20, 2018) WGI is pleased to announce that Richard Creed, PE, joined the firm’s Corporate Administration Division as a quality control manager in its Fort Lauderdale office. Richard comes to WGI with over 30 years of roadway design experience with Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) District 4 and Atkins North America, Inc.
The first half of Richard’s career focused exclusively on complex roadway design and plans production. For the last 15 years, Richard led the FDOT District 4 in-house design team, managing all production aspects in the preparation of construction plans. He also represented District 4 statewide in technical discussions, expert panels, and manual updates. Richard is well versed in FDOT design criteria and standards pertaining to plans quality and the production environment.
Throughout his career, Richard was an active member of numerous statewide and District 4 committees which focus on design criteria, temporary traffic control, and complete street efforts. He is proud to be a part of the FDOT complete streets collaborative team that developed the multimodal improvements now incorporated throughout the FDOT Design Manual.
Moving forward, Richard will utilize his experience by working collaboratively with WGI’s engineering groups – including taking on the responsibility of revising the current quality control process to provide a consistent platform across all groups. This approach will leverage current technology, allowing WGI to continually improve the products and services delivered to its clients.
“I am eager to utilize my skills in the quality control environment,” Richard shares. “Quality deliverables have always been the lynchpin to a company’s continued success. WGI’s focus on this improvement process highlights the firm’s commitment to quality and its clients.”
David Wantman, PE, and CEO of WGI, says, “We are very fortunate to have Richard join our team. His decades of experience in the design environment, teamed with his technical knowledge and client relationships, dovetails seamlessly with WGI’s steadfast commitment to client service excellence.”
