BOCA RATON, FLA - With the touch of a button, people across the nation can be connected with emergency personnel thanks to a Boca-Raton based company, MobileHelp. The Business Development Board of Palm Beach County, in cooperation with City of Boca Raton, Palm Beach County, and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, assisted the expansion of MobileHelp, a mobile emergency response technology company in Boca Raton. The company will create 150 new jobs with average salaries of $53,298 to its existing workforce of 198.

Founded over a decade ago, the company’s significant growth and creation of new technologies has led the company to a newly renovated 41,000 sq. ft. headquarters in the Boca Raton Innovation Campus. In fact, it’s not the company’s first expansion. The Business Development Board assisted the company in 2011 with information on available grants, incentive programs, workforce support for training and introductions to the City of Boca Raton’s economic development programs, all of which created dozens of new jobs over the years.

The BDB assisted MobileHelp’s most recent expansion by connecting facilitating an incentive package from the State, County, and City. The expansion will result in a capital investment of $3.65 million into the local economy. The City of Boca Raton provided $45,000 in economic incentives; Palm Beach County provided $45,000 through the Qualified Target Industry Tax Refund program and $360,000 was provided through the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.

“Assisting MobileHelp with multiple expansions over the years demonstrates Palm Beach County’s collaborative and supportive environment. The company is a great asset to the Boca Raton community and will provide even more opportunities in the future,” said Kelly Smallridge, President and CEO of the Business Development Board.
