BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT BOARD ASSISTS BIOTECH COMPANY AND BRINGS 350 JOBS TO BOCA RATON
The Business Development Board (BDB), Palm Beach County’s official economic development organization, facilitates the relocation, retention and expansion of companies to or in Palm Beach County by constantly strengthening local businesses one at a time and accelerating the economic future with high-wage and high-tech jobs. One such company that was recently assisted is ADMA Biologics, a publicly traded biopharmaceutical company located in Boca Raton.
ADMA plans to create several new jobs in Palm Beach County’s life science sector as the company scales up to produce three FDA approved drug products from the company’s Boca Raton biopharmaceutical manufacturing and laboratory facilities. The Business Development Board and the City of Boca Raton have worked together with the company to provide technical assistance necessary to facilitate the company’s growth in Boca Raton. They assisted with permits, locating vendors, and introducing a talent pipeline. The company acquired the Boca Raton Facilities in June of 2017 and has been in growth mode since receiving its recent FDA approvals. The company plans to hire approximately 100 jobs in a variety of areas in addition to retaining the existing workforce of approximately 250 at its Boca Raton campus.
ADMA Biologics provides life-saving medications to immune deficient patients with a genetic disorder called Primary Immune Deficiency Disease (“PI”), which affects more than 250,000 people in the U.S. PI is a class of inherited genetic disorders that causes an individual to have a deficient or absent immune system due to either a lack of necessary antibodies or a failure of these antibodies to function properly. ADMA Biologics is trying to change the future in immunotechnology with its three United States Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) approved plasma-derived biologics for the treatment of immune deficiencies and the prevention of certain infectious diseases.
Adam Grossman, Founder and CEO of ADMA said, “We are really happy to be a part of the growing life sciences community here in Florida. We are grateful to the Palm Beach County Business Development Board for their dedication to the life-sciences industry and believe that being able to partner with the County and City to bring jobs to the community is a win-win for business and the government.”
“With five U.S. patents, ADMA is trailblazing in its industry with groundbreaking science and we’re happy they’re doing it right here in Boca Raton,” said Kelly Smallridge, President and CEO of the Business Development Board.
“Boca Raton’s life sciences industry is home to many companies leading the way with cutting-edge innovations. Boca is excited to support the growth of ADMA Biologics,” said Mayor Scott Singer, Mayor of Boca Raton.
