THE KING’S ACADEMY’S 6TH GRADE STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN A VIRTUAL WAX MUSEUM

Published Tuesday, May 19, 2020

Sixth grade students from The King’s Academy take on the life of historical figures, quite literally! As part of the Wax Museum project, students chose a historical figure, conducted research, and wrote a biographical report on a historical figure of their choice. On wax museum day, students dressed up as wax depictions of their figures, who came to life online! Their speeches were enhanced by costumes and props to further represent the individual they chose. An application called Flipgrid was used to record and upload their speeches so teachers and classmates could see the presentations. Students voted on their favorite video and the top three were Cameron Burton (Neil Armstrong), Paulina Raines (Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis), and Jonathan Santiago.

This project integrates social studies, reading, and language arts and public speaking. Well done TKA 6th graders!
