September 10, 2020 – Palm Beach County, FL – Today, The Shyft Group (NASDAQ: SHYF) (“Shyft” or the “Company”), the North American leader in specialty vehicle manufacturing and assembly for the commercial, retail, and service vehicle markets, announced plans to open an additional facility in Jupiter, Florida, in partnership with the Business Development Board, Palm Beach County’s official economic development organization. The Shyft Group will lease 35,000 sq. ft. of newly constructed commercial space located in the Palm Beach Park of Commerce. With 30,000 sq. ft. built as warehouse and 5,000 sq. ft. built for office space, the company plans to convert the building to a vehicle assembly and upfit facility, bringing approximately 40 new highly skilled jobs to the area, as it continues to grow.

The new Palm Beach facility joins The Shyft Group’s existing 15,000 sq. ft. Strobes-R-Us Florida facility in Pompano Beach.

The Business Development Board, alongside Palm Beach County, assisted The Shyft Group with expedited permitting, and made additional introductions to Palm Beach County’s business community. BDB members Cushman Wakefield and Urban Design Kilday Studios helped the BDB bring this new build-to-suit facility to the Palm Beach Park of Commerce.

The Shyft Group is known for dynamic work and delivery truck, upfit, and recreational vehicle brands such as Utilimaster, Royal Truck Body, Strobes-R-Us, Spartan RV Chassis, and Builtmore Contract Manufacturing. The Company reported sales of $757 million in 2019 from continued operations, after divesting their fire truck business, earlier in the year. The organization continues to serve high volume, high growth markets.

“The Shyft Group’s Strobes-R-Us brand has been a staple supplier for South Florida first responders across federal, state, and local government agencies, for decades. I’m excited to share that due to their impressive growth, they will be expanding into a second Florida facility in Palm Beach County, with the help of the Business Development Board,” said Daryl Adams, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Shyft Group. “In addition to the BDB, I would like to thank the entire Strobes team for their commitment to the business. The leadership team and I are extremely proud of their continued success.”
